We do accept revolving donations of hygiene supplies such as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, soap, loofahs,feminine hygiene, etc. as well as school supplies, including items such as: filler paper, index cards, highlighters, pens, pencils, sticky notes, binders, notebooks, etc.

Lifted Out of Poverty has very few expenses beyond the basics: rent, insurance, paying our consultant, and providing opportunities for our mentees. One of our biggest expenses is our annual retreat, which is an opportunities for the mentees to spend time building friendships and enjoying the great outdoors, as well as having discussions and activities.

 

However, we would not be able to do what we do as a program if not for the goodness of our community.  Nelson Mandela once said, “There can be no keener observation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.”  We extend our deepest gratitude to our donors.
